To construct 6,400 wind turbines on nine sites around the coast of Britain, escalate in engineering skills needed to deliver a £75 billion engineer jobs. That is the view of Mott Macdonald energy director Simon Harrison, who assured New Civil Engineer that there was not much time to develop the necessary skills.
Las week, The Prime Minister Gordon Brown stated that this huge project could create as many as 70,000 engineering jobs. It is expected that once the engineering work is accomplished a quarter of the UK’s electricity will be produced by the wind farms.
Some of the major engineering recruitment agencies are working hard to supply skilled workers to employers for government and private sector construction projects. This is good time for civil engineers in UK as they have lots of work opportunities. If you are a civil engineer and looking for job then do get register with a reputable and reliable engineering recruitment agency to get a good job.
