Ranging from operators who operate machinery and carry out assembly work, to professional engineers who use their experience to manage projects, Engineering Jobs are filled with men and women. It’s just like any other discipline, but the proportion of males and females has a significant difference.

Engineering jobs usually offers excellent training and development prospects. With further study and qualifications it is possible to progress at much faster rate. The working hours are though similar to those of any other discipline, are bit harder. It can be one of the reasons for women not to pursue career, as they have many other responsibilities too.

Women are equally interested in science, engineering and construction and say around 20 per cent of engineering employees are female. But it’s really very depressing to see that only six per cent of professional engineers are female. Organizations and engineering recruitment agencies need to create motivational methods of hiring to encourage more and more females, but females also need to do efforts at their end to maintain the gap.
