Fasting – The Bond Between ITIKAF & FASTING

Fasting is done in the very special and blessed month of RAMADAN and this is what allows a Muslim to fulfill its duty towards The Lord, The Creator and The One & Only, None but ALLAH (SWT). The Month has all the special provisions which one is able to acquire from such an opportunity.
This is in precise where you are to know that when all the appropriate means of purification of one’s heart, soul and belief is provided and no means of distraction, one should focus on worshipping their Lord, Allah (SWT) and this is where in particular this month come as a blessing in providing you the opportunity for praying to ALLAH (SWT) with devotion and humility.
FASTING & ITIKAF INTERCONNECTED:
It is stated by different sources that there is a strong and an important aspect related to fasting with Itikaf. The Salaf regarded it as mustahabb to combine fasting and Itikaf. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said: “It was not reported that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, ever did I’tikaf when he was not fasting. Indeed, ‘Aa’ishah, may Allaah be pleased with her, said: ‘There is no Itikaf except with fasting.’” (Abu Daawood
