Knee Pain – Know the Causes

Knee pain may be caused by several factors pertaining to the knee joints such as unnecessary use of joints, inappropriate joint position, Overuse of the joint, insufficient stretching of joints before or after exercises etc. knee pain, if persists longer may require chronic pain treatment for healing.
After proper rest and self-care, Knee pain ensuing from these simple causes may cure on its own. However, being overweight or obese can significantly enhance the risk of developing several knee disorders. Knee pain may also arise from some other exceptional and infrequent causes including Bone tumors and Osgood-Schlatter disease.
Knee pain may result from the following diseases:
- Arthritis: disorders of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, and other connective tissues cause knee pain. Often treated using pain medication.
- Baker’s cyst: when the later region of the knee is filled with fluid, swelling and painful inflammation occurs.
- Bursitis: soreness and inflammation in the knee, also known as knee stress
- Hip disorders: pain in the hip causing may also directly impact the knee joints
- Knee injuries: caused by severe pain due to internal knee bleeding
- Strains and sprains: slight ligament injuries that are caused by sudden or unbalanced joint movements, causing ligament pain.
- Tendinitis (tendonitis): also known by front knee pain that intensifies by physical activities like hiking, climbing stairs etc.
- Meniscus tears: a type of cartilage tear which result in pain in the inside or outside knee joint.
- ACL tear: pain and damage of ligament tear may result in an instable joint.
- Dislocation of kneecap and joint infection may also be some causes
