Tips to Avoid Muscle Pain

Published by admin | Filed under Health & Fitness

Muscle pain, whether mild or severe, can be extremely uncomfortable for a person. Whether the muscle pain is caused by exercise, dehydration, overuse, injury or illness, the following steps can be taken to relieve the pain without taking pain medication:

Maintain good body posture:

Poor posture in the form of slouching, slumping and sitting/standing for long time leads to muscle strain. In order to maintain a good body posture, stand or sit against a wall with your shoulders and upper back in connection with the wall.  Raise your arms above your head and try to touch the wall.  If you succeed in doing this, you have good posture. But if not, then you need to work on it from today. Another way to ensure a good body posture is Yoga.

Exercise regularly

Daily workout is extremely helpful in preventing injury to your muscles.  Exercise works by improving blood circulation and strengthen your muscles against injuries. Many chronic pain treatment plans involve carefully planned exercises for the patient to relieve muscle pain. Apart from body movements, exercises may also include walking, swimming, biking or jogging.

Make Abdominal Muscles Tougher

Stomach muscles help support your spine. Hence, exercises that work by strengthening abdominal muscles can greatly help you relieve your back pain. Moreover, strengthening your leg muscles can also relieve pain felt in the back.

Take out time to relax

Giving your body some rest, particularly after extensive workout and other activities is important. Too much activity causes a build-up of waste products in your body and wears out your muscles, causing muscle pain. So rest considerably, and give your body some time to recover from the hectic workouts.

Massage Works Good

The best solution to reduce muscle pain is a good long massage. Consult a pain management center to book appointment with a massage specialist and watch your muscles heal with the oil and herbal massages.
