As you know that you spend one third of your life on bed, so it is important to have the right mattress to make those hours of sleep count. The quality of your mattress can affect your sleep patterns as well as how much rest you get during sleep. Here are some tips to help you to select the right kind of memory foam mattress for a bedroom:
- Prepare to spend some time in mattress stores because you will need to lie down on each mattress you are interested in.
- List down your mattress selection based on size. Consider who will be sleeping on the bed as well as their body mass. A queen size memory foam mattress bed is the better choice if two people are sharing. A twin size is great for young children but as they age, a full size bed is better for their growing bodies.
- Determine your comfort level for the mattress. Do you need firm support for your body or prefer something a bit soft and squishy? Keep in mind that one brand manufacturer’s firm mattress may be harder than another, thus the need to lie down on different mattresses to test them.
- Choose the kind of memory foam mattress you want. There are four basic types: memory foam mattresses, water beds, innerspring mattresses, memory foam topper and even air-based mattresses. Water beds provide the least support but do not apply much pressure to the shoulders and hips.
- Air-based mattresses are constructed like other mattresses with the padding and insulation, only they have an air chamber at the core. You can adjust the amount of air inside to regulate the firmness or softness of the mattress.
- Examine the ticking and cover of the mattresses you are interested in. Some beds like a water bed or air-based mattress will have a pillow top that provides an extra layer of cushion. The material used for the mattress covers vary from polyester and other synthetics to cotton. Select your mattress, choosing the best quality you can afford. Purchase the associated box springs or other type of foundation to serve as support for the mattress.
