Power of Supplication

Published by admin | Filed under Religion

Allah is the magnificent and the powerful, the listener of every person in need and every person with a request. Indeed Allah is free of all wants, and He is answerable to none. We have no other god, but Him, whilst He has many servants other than us. Allah says in Qur’an:

“O mankind! It is you who stand in need of Allah, but Allah is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of All Praise.” [Qur'an 35:15]

The value of supplication is so high to Allah that the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Nothing is more honorable to Allah the Most High than supplication.” [Sahih al-Jami` no.5268].

It is also evidence of esteem of supplication can also be gathered from Quran Recitation when Allah says:

“Pray [O Prophet, that]

I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,

the King of mankind,

the God of mankind

From the evil of the sneaking whisperer,

Who whispereth in the hearts of mankind,

Of the jinn and of mankind.”

And,

“When my servants ask you concerning me, (tell them) I am indeed close (to them). I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on me.” [2:186]

Knowing about the importance of supplication in Islam, we should learn different ways and etiquettes of supplication from religious scholars and Islamic Schools.

Prophet (PBUH) said:

“The most incapable person is the one who does not supplicate, and the most miserly person is the one who does not give salaam.” [Sahih Al-Jami` no. 1055],

So to fulfill our needs and wants, we must call on Him. supplication to Allah is identification of our weakness and His greatness.
